It’s been a little over 20 years since the manga series LIAR Game first debuted. Fans got the exciting news during this year’s Anime NYC that an anime adaptation will be released next year by Remow and Madhouse!
Liar Game is a psychological thriller series written and illustrated by Shinobu Kaitani and published by Shueisha. It is the story of Nao Kanzaki, a young and honest college student who, after receiving a package filled with money, learns that she is now a contestant in the Liar Game Tournament. A contest where contestants must gain each other’s money through manipulation, cheating, and lying. Losers are then forced to take on the debt of their losses. The series has previously been adapted into live-action TV series and films.
The anime adaptation will be directed by Asami Kawano, with Yuzo Sato as chief director, Tatsuhiko Urahata as the writer & script supervisor, Kisuke Koizumi as sound director, character designs by Kei Tsuchiya, and production will be by Madhouse.
An exciting adaptation that fans have been asking for for a long time! LIAR GAME will premiere in 2026.
