Sony Pictures Television has posted a new BTS video letting fans see what went into creating the live-action version of Axel.

Twisted Metal is a vehicular combat game series created by David Jaffe and Scott Campbell. The first game was released in 1995. Each entry in the franchise focuses on characters participating in an extreme demolition derby. The last driver alive wins a wish from the derby’s powerful host, Calypso. The franchise was well-received and considered a cult classic, though game-wise, it has remained dormant since its last entry in 2012.

Axel is a fan favorite driver first introduced in Twisted Metal 2. A man confied in frame locked between two massive wheels, he is outfitted with heavy weaponary. In the live-action serie he is played by Michael James Shaw.

Twisted Metal is a post-apocalyptic action-comedy series based on the vehicular combat game of the same name. It follows John Doe (played by Anthony Mackie), a delivery driver in a destroyed United States. The series cast includes Mackie alongside Thomas Haden Church, Will Arnett, Joe Seanoa, Richard Cabral, Jared Bankens, Neve Campbell, Mike Mitchell, Tahj Vaughans, Jamie Neumann, Diany Rodriguez, Angel Giuffria, Chelle Ramos, and Michael Carollo. Season 2 will add Richard de Klerk, Tiana Okoye, Michael James Shaw, and Anthony Carrigan.
