Netflix went all in at this year’s Anime NYC, showcasing upcoming adult anime series heading to the streaming platform. Details have been given on returning series Devil May Cry, Blue Eye Samurai, Record of Ragnarok, the currently airing Sakamoto Days, and a new series based on Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch. There is something for all anime fans to check out.
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch Premieres on Netflix on October 14, 2025, Announces New Cast Member
Based on Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell video game franchise, this new series will tell a new story in the life of Sam Fisher, a covert stealth operative for the U.S. government’s Fourth Echelon. The series is being developed by Derek Kolstad, the creator of the John Wick franchise, and will star Liev Schreiber as Sam Fisher. Netflix announced that Kirby Howell-Baptiste has been cast as the voice of Agent Zinnia McKenna.
Devil May Cry Season 2 Gets 2026 Release Window and New Trailer
Dante will return in season 2 of Devil May Cry when it premieres on Netflix in 2026. The series is based on the iconic action-adventure game series of the same name, published by Capcom. The new teaser shows Dante getting ready to fight his brother Virgil, which will be a partial focus of the season. Netflix’s Devil May Cry anime series was created by Adi Shankar (the same showrunner behind the Netflix Castlevania adaptation) and animated by Studio Mir.
Blue Eye Samurai Season 2 Production Has Begun
Netflix announced that production has begun on season 2 of Blue Eye Samurai, the animated action-adventure drama series written and created by Amber Noizumi and Michael Green. Set in Japan during the Edo period, it is the story of a half-Japanese woman seeking revenge. You can watch season 1 on Netflix.
SAKAMOTO DAYS Part 2 reveals Mid-Season Trailer
Sakamoto Days Part 2 has gotten a mid-season trailer offering a peek at the upcoming action shenanigans awaiting Sakamoto and Shin during the JCC Exams Arc. Based on the action comedy manga series written and illustrated by Yuto Suzuki and published in Weekly Shonen Jump, the series follows a retired legendary hitman whose peaceful life is shaken up when rivals and enemies from his past life show up. The anime adaptation is directed by Masaki Watanabe, written by Taku Kishimoto, with music by Yuki Hayashi, and produced by TMS Entertainment.
Record of Ragnarok III Gets New Trailer and December 2025 Release Window
The anime adaptation of Record of Ragnarok will continue, with Netflix announcing season 3 will premiere in December 2025. A dark fantasy adventure martial arts series based on the manga written by Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui and illustrated by Azychika. Record of Ragnarok focuses on a martial arts tournament with participants being famous historical figures and gods from numerous mythologies, and the future of humanity being the prize. The third season will be directed by Koichi Hatsumi, written Yasuyuki Muto, with music by Yasuharu Takanashi, and production by Maru Animation.
