Action-adventure RPG ‘RWBY: Grimm Eclipse Special Edition’ is now available on Google Play Games for PC

Viz Media and Google have brought action-adventure RWBY game, RWBY: Grimm Eclipse, to Google Play Games for PC.

RWBY: Grimm Eclipse is an action-adventure RPG developed by Rooster Teeth Games, with continued development and support by FarBridge Games, and is based on the animated series. Set between volumes 2 and 3, players take control of the members of teams RWBY and JNPR, as they investigate mysterious incidents and a dangerous enemy from their professor’s past.

RWBY was created by the late Monty Oum and produced by Rooster Teeth Animation. Set in the fantastical world of Remnant, where evil creatures called “Grimm” ravage the land, it is up to Hunters, wielders of amazing elemental weapons, to protect those who can not defend themselves. The series follows the titular team RWBY, four very different girls who strive to be the best, as they team up and train to become Huntresses.

The series’ future was left uncertain after Rooster Teeth’s parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery, failed to find a buyer for the production company, which was subsequently closed in 2024. RWBY wrapped up its 9th season in March 2024. It was announced in July 2024 that VIZ Media would continue the series.

Google Play Games for PC is currently in beta and allows gamers to play select mobile games on their PC, allowing for a bigger screen and different control options.

RWBY: Grimm Eclipse Special Edition is available now on Google Play Games for PC. It is also available on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, macOS, and PC via Steam.
