2016’s Shin Godzilla is returning to North American theaters next month with a new 4K remaster of the amazingly well-received kaiju film.
SYNOPSIS:
“Something has surfaced in Tokyo Bay. As the Prime Minister of Japan pleads with the public to remain calm, a horrific creature of tremendous size makes landfall in the city, leaving death and destruction in its wake. Then it evolves. The government assembles a motley task force to combat the monster when an envoy from the US Department of State delivers a folder of classified documents. On its cover is written: ‘GODZILLA.'”

Shin Godzilla is the 31st film in the Godzilla franchise and was released in 2016. It was directed by Hideaki Anno, creator of Neon Genesis Evangelion, and his frequent collaborator Shinji Higuchi, with a screenplay written by Anno, visual effects provided by Higuchi, and music by Shiro Sagisu. The movie follows Japanese government officials as they deal with the arrivial of a devastating creature from the sea. The film stars Hiroki Hasegawa, Yutaka Takenouchi, and Satomi Ishihara.
The film was a global box office success, receiving praise and acclaim from critics and fans.
