The latest Death Battle pits ‘Gurren Lagann’s’ Simon against the White Lantern Kyle Rayner

Death Battle’s latest bout has Gurren Lagann‘s Simon the Digger facing White Lantern Kyle Rayner in a fight filled with hope that will pierce the heavens.

Death Battle is a web series where fictional characters are pitted against each other, starting with a researched look into character abilities and history, followed by an animated fight sequence using the data to decide the outcome. The series has become a fun example of that classic fun of nerd arguments about who would win in a fight. The series’ future was at risk after the closure of parent company Rooster Teeth, Death Battle is now crowdfunded and supported through Kickstarter and YouTube memberships and owned by its co-creators.

The Simon the Digger VS Kyle Rayner (Gurren Lagann VS White Lantern) Death Battle will premiere on the official Death Battle YouTube Channel today, May 25, 2025, @ 1:00 PM (ET).
