Huzzah! The classic comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail will return to theaters next month to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
“Grossing the highest box-office of any British film in the US when released in 1975, this “cult classic” comedy from the Monty Python team loosely follows the legend of King Arthur (Graham Chapman), along with his squire (Terry Gilliam) and his Knights of the Round Table (John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin), as they embark on a fearless quest in search of the elusive Holy Grail. A hysterical, historical tour-de-force from Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones.”
Monty Python and the Holy Grail was released in 1975 and is a comedy film based on the legend of Arthur Pendragon, and written and performed by the iconic Monty Python comedy group (Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin) and directed by Terry Gilliam & Terry Jones. It is the second film from the group and tells a comedic version of King Arthur and the Knights of the Roundtable’s search for the Holy Grail. The film would later be the basis for Eric Idle’s 2005 Tony Award-winning musical Spamalot.
Monty Python and The Holy Grail 50th Anniversary screenings will be on May 4th & May 7th. Learn more, find screenings near you, and get your ticket from FathomEntertainment.com.
