The Muses from Disney’s New ‘Hercules’ Stage Musical Perform “Zero to Hero” in new music video

A West End production of Disney’s Hercules will premiere this June. To celebrate, Disney is giving fans a sneak peek with a live-action music video featuring the production’s Muses performing the song “Zero to Hero.”

Candace Furbert, Sharlene Hector, Brianna Ogunbawo, Malinda Parris, and Robin Rose-Li portray the Muses.

Disney’s Hercules premiered in 1997 and was an animated musical fantasy comedy loosely based on the classic Greek interpretation of the legendary hero of the same name. The film follows Hercules, who, after learning he is secretly the son of the gods Zeus and Hera, sets out to prove he is a true hero and earn a spot with them on Mount Olympus. The film was directed by John Musker and Ron Clements, with a screenplay by Clements, Musker, Donald McEnery, Bob Shaw, and Irene Mecchi. It starred Tate Donovan, Danny DeVito, James Woods, and Susan Egan, with Lillias White, Cheryl Freeman, LaChanze, Roz Ryan, and Vaneese Thomas playing the muses.

An animated television spin-off titled Hercules: The Animated Series premiered in 1998 and ran for two seasons. It told the story of Hercules in his teenage years as he trained to be a hero.

The West End production of Disney’s Hercules is directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw. It features music by Alan Menken, lyrics by David Zippel, a new book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah, and co-choreography by Tanisha Scott. It stars Luke Brady, Candance Furbert, Sharlene Hector, Briana Ogunbawo, Malinda Parris, Robyn Rose-Li, Mae Ann Jorolan, Trevor Dion Nicholas, Stephen Carlile, Craig Gallivan, and Lee Zarrett.
