The Anime Adaptation of “Nyaight of the Living Cat” heads to Crunchryoll This Summer

Nyaight of the Living Cat is a comedy horror manga series written by Hawkman, illustrated by Mecha-roots, and published by Mag Garden. Set in a world where a mysterious virus turns anyone who touches a cat into one, it follows a man’s struggle to snuggle with the adorable cats around him; otherwise, he is turned into a cat himself.

The anime adaptation of Nyaight of the Living Cat is being directed by Tomohiro Kamitani, with Takashi Miike as chief director, scripts by Shingo Irie, character designs by Takao Maki, and music by Kōji Endō, who also created the series theme song “Nyaight of the Living Cat,” which features guitarist Marty Friedman and Heidi Shepherd (frontwoman for the heavy metal band Butcher Babies). The series is being produced by OLM, with Slow Curve and Sony Pictures Television handling planning and production.
