@ NYCC 2024 – Life hasn’t exactly returned to normal in DAN DA DAN episode 5, as an important “thingie” is still missing…

Episode 5 of DAN DA DAN premieres tomorrow, showing that things haven’t exactly returned to normal for Momo and Okarun after their high-speed game of tag with Turbo Granny.

“Victorious against Turbo Granny, Momo and Okarun can go back to their peaceful lives. The traumatic experiences have brought the two closer, but they find their relationship to be awkward. Just then, Okarun discloses something important to Momo. They supposedly defeated Turbo Granny, but for some reason Okarun’s “thingie” hasn’t returned…”

DAN DA DAN is a manga series written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu. The series is about two classmates who believe in separate portions of the supernatural/paranormal world, both finding out things are a lot more complicated than they originally thought, unlocking hidden powers and new abilities while pursuing the truth.

The anime adaptation has been immensely well received, becoming extremely popular thanks to its tone, frantic mad-cap style, amazing music, and captivating action. The anime is directed by Fuga Yamashiro, written by Hiroshi Seko, with music by Kensuke Ushio, and animation production by Science Saru. The opening theme is “Otonoke” performed by Creepy Nuts, with the ending theme “Taidada” performed by Zutomayo. The Japanese cast includes Shion Wakayama, Natsuki Hanae, Nana Mizuki, Mayumi Tanaka, Ayane Sakura, and Kaito Ishikawa. The English voice cast stars Abby Trott, A.J. Beckles, Kari Wahlgreen, Lisa Reimold, Aleks Le, Barbara Goodson, and Ben Diskin.

Things haven’t exactly returned to normal for Momo and Okarun… whatever normal means.

DAN DA DAN is available to stream on Crunchyroll and Netflix, with new episodes premiering every Thursday on both platforms.
