Adult Swim and Production I.G.’s Uzumaki anime adaption has gotten a September 28th release date and a new teaser trailer.

Uzumaki is a horror manga written and illustrated by the iconic mangaka Junji Ito. The series was published from 1998 to 1999 and tells the story of a seaside town suffering from a series of curses and phenomena that are all themed around spiral patterns. The manga would become a must-read for horror fans, getting several omnibus editions, re-releases, and a live-action movie adaptation in 2000.

The anime adaption will be four episodes long and is directed by Hiroshi Nagahama, with music by Colin Stetson, animation by Drive, and production by Production I.G. USA and Adult Swim.

Uzumaki premieres on September 28th @ 12:30am as a part of Adult Swim’s Toonami block, the next day on Max. English dub encores on Thursdays.
