RWBY finds a new home at VIZ Media!

Fans of the animated action series RWBY had questions about the future of the series after it was announced that Rooster Teeth would be shutting down. Anime and Manga publisher VIZ Media has revealed that they will be the home for the continuing adventures of Team RWBY!

New RWBY IP owner VIZ Media has revealed at this year’s Anime Expo that series showrunner Kerry Shawcross will be involved in the series continuation and that there are plans to provide ways to watch RWBY Volumes 1-9, listen to the soundtracks, as well as create additional merch and collectibles.

RWBY was created by the late Monty Oum and is set in the fantastical world of Remnant, where evil creatures known as the “Grimm,” ravage the land. It is up to Hunters, wielders of amazing elemental weapons, to protect those who can not defend themselves. Follow team RWBY, four very different girls who strive to be the best, as they team up and train to become Huntresses!

As noted before, the RWBY’s future was left uncertain after Rooster Teeth’s parent company Warner Bros. Discovery failed to find a buyer for the much-loved internet media production company. RWBY wrapped up its 9 season (titled volume) in March 2024.

This isn’t the first time Viz has helped tell RWBY’s story, as they have previously released the RWBY manga series and The World of RWBY compendium.
