As a native New Yorker, I am used to my hometown getting a bit weird, but a giant inflatable dragon hanging from the Empire State Building? That one has caught me by surprise, but what better way to ring in a new season of House of the Dragon?

Vhagar the Dragon, Aemond Targaryen’s beloved dragon, is the newest resident of the world-famous building. Present until June 18th as a part of the special House of the Dragon takeover event, a ticketed event celebrating the release of the second season of the Game of Thrones prequel series, this adorable beast is a sight to see!

House of the Dragon takes place 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones (the hit HBO series based on George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire franchise). It shows the lead-up to the decline of House Targaryen and the events of the war called the “Dance of the Dragons.”

The House of The Dragon Empire State Building event is a ticketed experience offering a chance to see Vhagar the Dragon up close, as well as an Iron Throne photo opportunity, an interactive Game of Thrones: Legends experience on the 80th Floor, and, of course, 360-degree views of New York City.

The chance to meet a dragon hanging from one of the world’s most iconic buildings? Stay weird NYC!
