Iconic Super Sentai actress Yuka Motohashi has passed away

As reported by Japanese news outlet Sponichi, actress/singer Yuka Motohashi passed away yesterday (May 31, 2024) at 46 years old after a battle with cancer, with the announcement reportedly being given by her punk rock girl group Lovepunk.

Motohashi started performing in the 90s, gaining fame for starring as one of the Carrangers in Gekisou Sentai Carranger (the season adapted into Power Rangers Turbo). She appeared in the series as Natsumi Shinohara, the team’s yellow Carranger, reprising the role for its VS. TV films. She would return to tokusatsu in the Kamen Rider movie Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider OOO & W Featuring Skull: Movie War Core as Naomi in 2010, and Sonona in Avataro Sentai Donbrothers in 2023. She was also a member of the punk rock girl group Lovepunk.
