Season one of “To Your Eternity” is getting a Blu-ray / Digital release this summer

Viz Media has announced that the first season of the fantasy series To Your Eternity is heading to Blu-ray / digital this summer.

“In the beginning, an “orb” is cast unto Earth. “It” can do two things: change into the form of the thing that stimulates “it”; and come back to life after death. “It” morphs from orb to rock, then to wolf, and finally to boy, but roams about like a newborn who knows nothing. As a boy, “it” becomes Fushi. Through encounters with human kindness, Fushi not only gains survival skills, but grows as a “person”. But his journey is darkened by the inexplicable and destructive enemy Nokker, as well as cruel partings with the people he loves.”

To Your Eternity began as a manga series written and illustrated by Yoshitoki Ōima. The story follows the unique being named Fushi as they use their ability to take the forms of others and to come back after death, to experience centuries of life, examining what it means to be human along the way. The series earned praise for its emotional storytelling and detailed art and expressions.

The first season of the anime adaptation premiered in 2021 and was directed by Masahiko Murata, written by Shinzō Fujita, with music by Ryo Kawasaki, and animation production by Brain’s Base. Season 2 was directed by Kiyoko Sayama, and animation production by Drive. A third season has been announced and is in production.

The To Your Eternity season 1 Blu-ray set will include episodes 1-20 in 1080P 16×9 video resolution, and English and Japanese (with English subtitle) audio options. And will feature a special reversible amaray cover.
