“Sakamoto Days” anime series announced for 2025

The story of a hitman turned family man forced back into the life! Action-comedy manga series Sakamoto Days has quickly gained a lot of fans. Fans are sure to be excited as TMS Entertainment announced an anime series adaptation is in the works and set to premiere in 2025.

“Time has passed peacefully for Sakamoto since he left the underworld. He’s running a neighborhood store with his lovely wife and child and has gotten a bit…out of shape. But one day a figure from his past pays him a visit with an offer he can’t refuse: return to the assassin world or die!”

The Sakamoto Days manga is written and illustrated by Yuto Suzuki. The series is about Taro Sakamoto, a legendary hitman who after retiring from his murderous career and starting a family, finds himself drawn back when old enemies resurface.

The anime adaptation is directed by Masaki Watanabe, written by Taku Kishimoto, with character designs Yo Moriyama, and animation studio TMS Entertainment. It will star Tomokazu Sugita as Taro Sakamoto. The series will premiere in January 2025.
