‘Doki Doki Literature Club’ Creator Dan Salvato Announced as an Anime NYC 2024 Guest

This year’s Anime NYC is almost here, and the highly anticipated event is getting anime & gaming fans excited with new guest announcements. One of the latest ones is indie game dev and creator of Doki Doki Literature Club, Dan Salvato.

Doki Doki Literature Club is a free psychological horror dating simulator developed & published by Team Salvato in 2017. Players take on the role of the newest member of a high school literature club. What seems to be the start of a light-hearted dating game turns into a metafictional horror experience examining the tropes of the game genre. The game would later get a premium version titled Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! that includes new side stories.

The game’s creator and Team Salvato, Dan Salvato, will be at Anime NYC 2024 on Friday and Saturday and will host limited signings on both days.

Held at NYC’s Jacob Javits, Anime NYC Powered by Crunchyroll is a convention focusing on Japanese pop culture. Anime, movies, games, and more, attendees get to hear the latest news from industry members, exhibitors, and artists. The event’s lineup of panels and screenings means world premieres and behind-the-scenes looks at upcoming anime titles and fan favorites. The event is changing from its previous event window of November, and moving to August, with news that it’s set to be the largest Anime NYC yet, adding over 200,00 new square feet to their exhibition and programming space.

Doki Doki Literature Club is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The updated version of the game Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! is available the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Windows, and macOS.
