- In a new video from the official Undergrads revival YouTube channel, series character Gimpy offers an apology for a lack of updates and that more information will come from series creator Pete Williams by the end of the month.
After nearly 23 years, fans of the MTV animated series Undergrads have long awaited a conclusion to the story of Nitz and his friends. Well, a new video on the Undergrads revival YouTube channel offers not just an apology for the lack of info recently, but that updates are coming soon!
Undergrads was an MTV animated series created by Pete Williams. Running for one 13-episode season in 2001, Undergrads followed a group of college freshmen, showing surreal depictions of the ups and downs of college life, including roommates, student loans, fraternities, being broke, and RA’s. Undergrads premiered during the early 2000s rise of the internet and nerd culture spreading wide. While short-lived, the series would develop a passionate following, long demanding its return and completion. A Kickstarter would launch and be successfully funded in 2018 for a movie-length series finale.
Being developed by Brain Power Studio, Undergrads: The Movie is expected to be released in 2025.
The newly released Gimpy’s Apology video has Undergrads resident hacker & Star Wars fan Justin “Gimpy” Taylor give an apology for the lack of updates while promising more news from series creator Pete Williams at the end of January 2024. So stay tuned to the official YouTube channel to hear more about the Undergrads return.
