This summer, Anime NYC 2024 is set to bring all kinds of anime fun to the heart of New York City, and the super-charged convention is teaming up with the Japan Society as the event’s non-profit partner!
Held at NYC’s Jacob Javits, Anime NYC Powered by Crunchyroll is a convention focusing on Japanese pop culture. Anime, movies, games, and more, attendees get to hear the latest news from industry members, exhibitors, and artists. The event’s lineup of panels and screenings means world premieres and behind-the-scenes looks at upcoming anime titles and fan favorites. The event is changing from its previous event window of November, and moving to August, with news that it’s set to be the largest Anime NYC yet, adding over 200,00 new square feet to their exhibition and programming space.
The Japan Society is a cultural organization based New York City, it was founded in 1907 with a focus on sharing Japan’s art, culture, business, and society with others. It was inspired by the Japanese concept of kizuna (絆), their goal is “to forge deep connections to bind people together.” They host a wide range of events and classes in their landmark building (designed by Junzo Yoshimura). They offer language classes, lectures, performing, special screenings, and more!
The partnership between Japan Society and Anime NYC will bring even more activities and chances to to engage and learn with Japanese culture, as well as offer attendees the chance to donate to the Japan Society during their ticket purchase.
