Pre-orders close soon for the ‘SPIRITED AWAY: Live on Stage’ Blu-ray

A classic and charming tale brought to life on stage, SPIRITED AWAY: Live on Stage takes the iconic Studio Ghibli story and creates a captivating and beautiful musical. North American fans can now add two performances featuring two casts to their collection, as Spirited Away: Live on Stage heads to Blu-ray.

Adapted by John Caird, who was behind the world premiere of Les Misérables, the live show takes the classic anime tale and turns it into a gorgeous stage play. The cast includes Kanna Hashimoto, Mone Kamishiraishi, Park Romi, Mari Natsuki, Daigo Kotaro, Hiroki Miura, Miyu Sakihi, Satoshi Hashimoto, and Romi Park.

Spirited Away was written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki and released in 2001. It follows the story of a young girl traveling with her parents who, after they are turned into pigs, is forced to work in a bathhouse run by a witch. The movie gained critical acclaim around the world for its captivating story and visuals. It won several awards and was the highest-grossing film in Japan for 19 years until its record was broken by Demon Slayer: Kimtesu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train.

The Blu-ray release features two full-length cast performances of the Spirited Away: Live on Stage in Japanese with English subtitles.

Pre-orders are available now for Spirited Away: Live on Stage, which will ship on November 14th, 2023. You can watch the anime movie classic Spirited Away over on Max (formally known as HBO Max).
