Scott Pilgrim is a graphic novel series created by Bryan Lee O’Malley and tells the story of a 20-something-year-old slacker and musician who, after falling in love with a new girl in town, has to fight her seven supervillain exes. The series got acclaim for its action, surreal yet relatable story, humor, and use of pop-culture tropes & references. It would get a live-action adaptation in 2010 directed by Edgar Wright and starred Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Alison Pill, Brandon Routh, and Jason Schwartzman.
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off will adapt the story once more, directed by Abel Góngora, written and developed by Bryan Lee O’Malley & BenDavid Grabinski, with music by Joseph Trapanese & Anamanaguchi, animation by Science Saru, and the cast of the live-action movie reprising their roles.
