NYCC 2023 – Digivolve your experience when Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning heads to theaters this November

This November 9th & 10th, Digimon is heading to select theaters premiering the English dub and Japanese language with English subtitles of Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning, following our old friends Davis, Yolei, Cody, Ken, and the rest on their brand new adventures. The only catch: they are now 20 years old.

“It’s 2012, and ten years have passed since the adventure in the Digital World. Daisuke Motomiya is now twenty, and he and the rest of the DigiDestined seem to be changing bit by bit in terms of appearance and lifestyle. Then one day, a giant Digitama suddenly appears in the sky over Tokyo Tower. Daisuke and the others encounter a mysterious young man named Lui Ohwada, who informs them that he’s the first ever DigiDestined in the world…”

Fathom is expanding the digital adventure to 750 theaters across the US. As an added bonus exclusive to the movie experience is an opening introduction to the film by its director, Tomohisa Taguchi. 

And to all our excited Digidestined out there, there is ANOTHER bonus: the first 50 movies that go to a screening will get an exclusive Digimon card pack from the upcoming new expansion to the Digimon TCG. Each pack will include 3 of 14 cards. Grab these cards before their official release in December.

Based on the Digital Monster (Digimon) virtual pet toy created in 1997, the Digimon franchise encompasses numerous films and TV series as well as video games, card games, comics, light novels and drama CDs. The original TV series “Digimon Adventure” premiered in 1999 and was followed in 2000 by the sequel “Digimon Adventure 02” which featured a different cast of children from the first series.

It’s 2012, and ten year’s have passed since the last digital threat that the season 2 Digidestined have faced. Growing up into fine adults, they are now dealing with new challenges and balancing friendships with their partner Digimon. Life is about to change again as a giant digital (digital egg that Digimon are born from are born from) appears in the sky over Tokyo tower.

“Digimon Adventure 02 The Beginning” is directed by Tomohisa Taguchi and written by Akatsuki Yamatoya together with production by Toei Animation — the same team behind the most recent film “Digimon Adventure Last Evolution Kizuna” released in 2020.
