In October 2003, the original Fullmetal Alchemist anime debuted. Telling the story of the Elric brother’s hunt for the mythical philosopher’s stone. A new collectible is on its way to help celebrate this major milestone: Viz’s new Fullmetal Alchemist 20th Anniversary Book!
Fullmetal Alchemist began as a manga series written and illustrated by Hiromu Arakawa and published by Enix (later Square Enix) in 2001. The series follows the Elric brothers on a journey to find the philosopher’s stone and return their bodies to normal. The manga was immensely well received. It would get two anime adaptions, two theatrical movies, a live-action movie series, video games, and more! The manga series recently celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2001.
The Fullmetal Alchemist 20th Anniversary book features companion manga from series creator Hiromu Arakawa and reflections from Arakawa and the people who worked on the franchise’s many iterations.
