Anime fans are in for a treat when the English dub of the classic 1982 anime film Space Adventure Cobra: The Movie has been uploaded to the official TMS YouTube Channel.
Space Adventure Cobra: The Movie is a 1982 anime movie based on the 1978 manga series Cobra. Written and illustrated by Buichi Terasawa, the manga tells the story of an office worker in the distant future who secretly discovers that he is Cobra, a legendary space pirate with a bounty on his head. He embarks on numerous adventures facing off against evil pirates, corrupt government officials, and looking for big paydays. The series would get several anime adaptions over the years, with its latest one, Cobra the Animation, that ran in 2010. It has an new manga series titled Cobra: Over the Rainbow, currently running Kadokawa’s Comic Hu.
Space Adventure Cobra: The Movie was directed by Osamu Dezaki, with a screenplay by Buichi Terasawa & Haruya Yamazaki, produced by Tatsuo Ikeuchi, editing by Masatoshi Tsurubuchi, music by Osamu Shoji, and animation by Tokyo Movie Shinsha. The film stars Shigeru Matsuzaki, Yoshiko Sakakibara, Gorō Mutsumi, and Akiko Nakamura.
