Chihayafuru’s season 3 premium box set is now available for pre-order!

Chihaya Ayase’s journey to becoming the best karuta player comes to a close when season 3 of the anime series Chihayafuru heads to Blu-ray with a new box set release!

“Chihaya Ayase’s obsession with the card game Karuta has already begun to bear fruit, and the fledgling Mizusawa High School competitive team that she helped form has stunned the karuta playing community by winning the national high school team tournament. That’s just the beginning for Chihaya, however, and now the young card mistress has set her sights on an even more impossible task: taking on grand master Wakamiya Shinobu and wresting the title of Queen away for herself. As difficult as everything has been before, it will seem easy compared to the task now ahead of her, and her teammates look to be equally challenged, especially Taichi Mashima, who’s finally made it to Class A. Chihayafuru began as a slice-of-life romance manga series by Yuki Suetsugu that focuses on a high school girl and her school’s karuta club’s efforts to become the best players of the traditional Japanese card game. The series would get an anime adaptation directed by Morio Asaka and written by Naoya Takayama (season 1), Ayako Katō (season 2), and Yūko Kakihara (seasons 2 & 3). The music was by Kousuke Yamashita, with the animation by Madhouse.

Chihayafuru Season 3 Premium Box Set includes all 24 episodes of the series’ third season on Blu-ray. Special features include textless versions of the opening and closing animations, Japanese promo videos, Japanese TV commercials, and commercial bumpers. Collectibles include art cards, a collector’s booklet, and a fabric poster, all housed in a captivating collector’s box.
