Oricon News reported that One Piece fans should get ready for an emotional ride, with the release of a manga adaption of One Piece Novel A, a two-part novel series following the story of fan-favorite character Portgas D. Ace.

The story follows the early pirate adventures of Ace and how he came to be the powerful figure he appears as in the main One Piece series. It was originally published in several issues of One Piece magazine, later being compiled into two volumes.

Titled One Piece Episode A, the manga will be the first ongoing One Piece side-story to every receive a manga adaption and is illustrated by Dr. Stone creator Boichi.
The first episode was published today in ONE PIECE Magazine No. 10 in Japan. 54 pages-long, it included 3-pages in color.
There is no word yet on a western release or if it will be further adapted into an anime, though excited fans will likely want it to be.
