As reported by Dual Shockers, in a recent interview with Famitsu, gaming icons Hideo Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa discussed projects they have in mind for the future.
DEATH STRANDING – Launch Trailer | PS4 4K
The interview was for the February 2020 issue of Famitsu magazine, and was a 30-page spotlight on the duo. In it, the pair discussed their interest in possibly making a manga, as well as Kojima’s continued interest in making movies, including a movie using Shinkawa’s designs. They also discussed that during the development of Death Stranding, Kojima’s interest in mecha was reignited because of the game’s weapon aesthetics. While saying that his preferred mecha project would likely be an anime, the pair did explain that making an anime would be a massive amount of work, but that they felt it would be little less work than a game.
While Kojima and Shinkawa have these amazing ideas, it was stated that Kojima productions are currently set to work on several planned game projects, including a “big game,” though no further details were given.
It will be interesting to see what other non-game projects may come from the duo down the line. It looks like Death Stranding was truly just the start.
Death Stranding is currently available for PS4, with a PC release set for later this year.
