In what was a sudden shock to many game developers, PC game platform, Steam, has asked several game developers to change their games to meet the distributors guidelines for the removal of pornographic content on Steam, stating that the games that don’t change will be removed.
Warnings went to game developers who have had their releases on the platform for years, with some taking to twitter to respond.
While many are confused with the sudden notification, and some devs arguing that their content doesn’t violate the established guidelines, this striking change is hitting the visual novel community on Steam the hardest. Many have taken to attempting to contact Valve in order to fix what they see to be a false problem.
